Oscar…the turtle

Found this little guy on the edge of the road on my way home from work last week. I wrote some about him in this post. And since I got an over whelming response for that picture I took the liberty to post a few more…and include one of myself with him=)

Most of the time he was all tightly pulled up into his shell…poor little guy I must have scared him pretty bad.

I was reading some on turtles and found that you can actually pet them…ya I know right?! And I guess they like it

Have any of you caught a turtle before…or maybe have a pet one?

  1. Great pictures! I like the first and the last the best. We have had a turtle before. I don't remember how we found him/her. I just remember that we let it go in our creek, before our vacation. I think they are so neat. ~Hannah

  4. Don't like to be a spoilsport but turtles carry pseudomonas. The moister the enviornment the greater the likelyhood. That's why you don't see lots of them in pet shops anymore. So careful handwashing and little kids shouldn't handle them.

    1. Makes sense...I looked pseudomonas up and you are completely right, I had no idea. And yes I wash my hand after I touch any animal, even my horse. Thanks for the heads up=)
