When I’m at work…

Since I’m at work more than anywhere else nowadays, I’m pretty much at home in my office. I actually like being in my quiet office, after a rowdy weekend with my family. Also the schedule is a huge part of it…I love a routine and my job makes life very stable.  

I’m your typical secretary. Except if I was to describe my job, I would say I’m more like an office manager/bookkeeper but also the person who has to preform. Because I’m the only girl in the office, for this company. Yeah I sit all day, well I got a standing desk now (about a month ago) and so I stand for part of the day. It surprisingly really helps, I highly recommend it. I love my job! But if you would have told me when I started, I would still be here after two years I would have laughed. No way this outdoor’s girl was ever going to make it inside, in a car, for that long, let alone make a career out of it. But that all has change…I have been here for over two year and I plan on working this job for many more years. Lord willing=) I look forward to work everyday and I couldn’t have found a better place for myself to be, work related…I fit here and I can truly say it’s not work, it’s just what I do everyday=) Because I love it!

Joseph works at a window shop that I do the books for, it’s so fun seeing and working with my brother everyday. But it can be very challenging at times for me, trying to learn how to keep it all “business” with a sibling. It’s been a learning experience for me, since he’s started, but it’s been a good one.And my favorite visitor of all, Christina. My best friend, she can bring a little sunshine into the worst of days=) We matched so we had to take a picture…I work for Amish in the middle of no where so I don’t typically dress up much…but again this was taken on a Friday. And since I normally don’t see a soul on this day of the week, I dress for comfort=) I’m trying, but failing, to make up a good enough excuse for what I’m wearing=)

Do you enjoy your job or is it just work?

Mother’s Day

I know lately I have had a lot of post up about my mom…but bare with me this is the last one…I promise.

To start the day off I made pancakes, so my wonderful mom could sleep in, take a shower or whatever and not have to worry about helping fix breakfast (and she did good, she actually stayed out of the kitchen for once)

Church was packed, almost more people than on Easter Sunday…now I don’t like a service -  where when everyone stands you can’t see the minister. And this was one of those Sundays.

Anyway, enough of my complaining=)

At home all we had to do was fix a salad and decorate the cake. My amazing sister Victoria made Mexican slop and it was piping hot in the crock pot. But since the meal was just so easy to prepare it took us an hour to finally get everything together and sit down for the meal. If you ask me, I think we had too many girls in the kitchen at once=)

After the meal we opened gifts!

Then came the games. We played a trivia game about my mom. We gave her a bowl of questions that me and Christina had come up for her. (stuff we didn’t know…like when was her first date, first kiss, life questions etc.) Mom would read a question and all of us would come up with an answer and write it on a piece of paper…then she would read through all of them and the winner/winners would get a point for their correct answer. I don’t remember exactly but either Jonathan or Grace won this one. It was so neat! I know so much more about my mom now=)

The boys planted the four rose bushes we all bought her and put the sand box in. Dad picked up sand on Thursday for it and now the only thing missing is some kids - to play in it=)

A few of the party…I was so busy helping with the food etc. I didn’t get too many of this actually. And the party games were so interesting I didn’t use my camera at all then.

I love Samuel’s smile, he hardly smiles in pictures any more. and by that I mean a genuine little boy smile=)

Happenings of Autumn

I love Autumn!

A few words that come to mind when I think of this season are:

cold, dry, yellow, red, orange, romantic, windy, leafy, cozy, fires, sweatshirts, walks, apples, pumpkins, frost, cider, scarfs, deer, owls, acorns, rakes, wreaths, boots, socks,

“hey Olivia can you take pictures of me” yeah being the only one in the family with a camera I hear this quite often. And yes this is what Josie asked…”sure!” I have nothing better to do… No really it’s not that bad, just when I have other things to do. And when I have the time and want too, they aren’t in the mood=P so you get the idea

He just got back from a mission trip to Hungary…He had a very positive impact in a lot of lives over there and came back a very different (in a good way) person=) Sharing about the love of Jesus to those who have no hope.
