why my Christmas Eve isn’t what I expected….

This Christmas Eve’s memory will be dampened by the death of Duke. He’s been with us, since 2000. I actually can’t even remember the time, he wasn’t around. Those kind eyes, the funny way he howled when we came home, and all that fur (it smelled bad, but hey now it doesn’t seem so bad).

I was the one that drove him to the vet, to have him…well…I don’t like to say it…so you get the idea. Leaving him there was horrible…but when they told us to say goodbye, it was almost too much!

So here’s to all the wonderful memories with, this lovely creature we named Duke.  I feel like every single piece of my childhood is slowly but surely fading…and the passing of Duke is no exception.  All the walks in the woods, and all the times he’d go swimming or fishing with us, this list could go on and on. I miss that place and that time so much! Oh well it’s part of growing up, I guess…and these are the painful parts.

Goodbye Duke…I loved you!

This past week was not very eventful. Just the normal everyday stuff…the stuff that’s not interesting to anyone else but makes up most of our lives=)

On Saturday I went with Christina up to Kokomo to her girlfriends wedding. We were late – and we didn’t actually speed but we didn’t get there on time by driving the speed limit=) it was a lovely wedding, by the way.  Their reception had amazing food! but maybe I was just hungry.  I had so much fun just spending the day with Christina…did I mention she’s amazing?!?!? yeah I know I have=)

Sunday I spent in Brown County state park…lovely place to hike! I love that place more and more each time I visit.

The new little filly=)

My bosses mare had another baby this spring. This time a filly=) I’m still trying to think of a name for her.  She’s adorable! Since she’s had very little contact with humans after her birth, when he brought her home week ago, she had no fear of humans - so her and I became buddies really fast.

I can’t take my camera out to barn ever, without snapping a few of this guy=)Or this guy either…love those eyes<3

Puppy in my office=)

My boss’s beagle hound Molly had puppies, five of them to be exact. Christina stopped by the other day, (seeing her always makes my day instantly better) I needed one picture for my photo-a-day photo but….

…the lighting was so good I just clicked away=) 

Tomorrows the first day of July and then we are exactly halfway through the year 2014! It's hard to believe, it has gone by so fast=) When I was a kid it always felt like the days went by so slowly and now as an adult I blink and the day is gone.

This saying is so true

Last Friday night I went to a rodeo to watch a friend bull ride…yeah you read that right=) It was two hours away somewhere in Ohio (after we passed Cincinnati I was lost). It was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. Now I get scared for the riders even when I don’t know them…but when I do it’s even worse, I almost made myself sick. It was so fun though…I was out pretty late that night and I had a test in Indy the next morning but oh well=)

Sunday Christina and I went on a little over three hour ride together…just the two of us and our horses=) It was cool out with a light breeze and a clear sky over head…couldn’t have picked a better day.  We stopped on our way back to visit with an Amish family…and they convinced us to have dinner with them. I never like to leave Sam tied, but he did very well – even though there were some teenage female horses on the other side of the fence and you know how things goes – those girls were beside themselves, to say the least=)

My boss’s mare had a filly on Thursday – I can’t wait till they bring her back home…I want to see her so bad!

Okay so here are the seven new photo’s, this week it was hard to get in the mood to take them. But despite the odd against me I managed to get all seven=) I even remembered I hadn’t taken one at 11:45 pm one day – whoa that was close!

I bought the latest Rascal Flatts CD even though I practically had to run out of the store, thanks to Isaac for MAKING me get it…it’s so hard for me to spend money on things like this anymore.  But it was so worth the money spent=)

I <3 my animals

Yeah I’m an animal lover=) I’m never happier than when I’m feeding all my animals…I snapped these one evening last week and thought you would all like to see my animals.

I’m in love with my chickens…

This is Nicole, she’s a Rhode Island Red (after Nicole Kidman) naming a chicken after a celebrity…it seriously couldn’t have gotten any worse. Nicole is the nicest chicken ever, loves to be held and is very vocal.

Miranda, a Silver-Laced Wyandotte (after Miranda Lambert) I hope she never find’s out=) Miranda is skittish and doesn’t like too much attention, just wants to live life as a chicken. When it’s time to go back in their pin for the night, she’s always a pain to catch.

And this is Connie, just plain Connie, not named after anyone. Poor Girl. (she’s an Araucana, better know as the Easter Egg chicken because they lay colored eggs, Connie lays blue eggs) She pretty bossy about every detail in life and roles the chicken house.

My cat!

Merry! I love her so much, the perfect cat always. Never to pushy, doesn’t get in your business, only wants her food and water full. I had to beg her to even sleep on my bed when we first got her. And then for the most part she would only sleep there during the day. A very independent cat to say the least. And would rather be outside than in the house any day. Good thing because since we moved she’s been strictly an outdoor cat.

Duke such a good ol’dog. He’s at least 13 years old….pretty much completely deaf now, very hard for us to get used to. It happened really fast too. One day he could hear fine and what seemed like overnight he can’t hear anything. (he’s the family dog, not mine, but I couldn’t help but add this one of him) Love his beautiful eyes.
