~Photo-a-day~ Aug 27–Sept 2

This is a day late, only because Labor Day was Monday and I got all my days mixed together. But my long weekend was wonderful. Other than for work…weekends like this wreaks havoc on my work schedule and it left me with loads of dead lines and no time to get the work accomplished. But that’s life and it would get boring if every week you didn’t have a lot a bit of stress. Right?!?!?

Saturday was the annual fall Amish school auction for this community. Sooo I had several groups of Amish to take to the sale that morning and spent a few hours chatting with neighbors and friends before returning home to clean and cook for the expected company the following day. It rained and the humidly destroyed my hair, so I was more than happy to spend the rest of the day at home=) At one point I was flipping pancakes, putting cookies in and out of the oven, and mixing the bread together, all at the same time. Christina had to work, boy did I missed her! She’s normally tasting what I’m making, washing dishes, flipping pancakes or whatever else I need done=)

Sunday I spent it cooking (so it was perfect…haha) and enjoying the company of friends that evening. The lovely Ison sisters -Hannah, Gracie, Faith and Charity - were able to come…some of life’s dearest friends…I love these girls and was over joyed that they (along with their family) could come and spend the afternoon with me us. We played croquet…I absolutely love this game. I stayed up late with both of my younger brothers watching a James Dean movie in my room…it was actually pretty good, they both stayed awake the entire movie. When I asked Samuel afterwards if he liked it, he said he didn’t know….haha, I can’t decide if I did either. There was so much to grasp, for that old of a movie…I was pretty impressed with how deep it was.

Labor day I was up before daylight again to head down to Canaan Indiana. A morning of horse back riding with my boss and Isaac. I didn’t take any pictures even though I had my camera, it was rainy (my only excuse)…but still it felt good to just ride and really hang out with Sam and not be troubled with my camera. He handled the day better than the other two horses, even though he is years older then them. An absolute perfect day, with a lovely sunset to conclude it.

So on to the pictures…

~Photo-a-day~ Aug 6–Aug 12

Finally found the time (here at work) to put this post together. I’m over my head in work this week…can’t seem to find the time for anything remotely personal. I’m up late every night doing something – working-out at eleven pm has got to stop. I’ve come in to work late everyday this week – over slept or something along those lines. I need to get to bed before one and when I actually lay down, stop checking facebook, instagram etc. just go to sleep.

Tuesday night I was invited over to see the eleventh child of some Amish friends of mine. It was born just the morning before. So adorable! I’m not a baby person and most of them aren’t cute just after birth and I won’t lie about them being cute either. But this little girlie was something else.

Isaac and I picked corn. Lots. Lots. Lots. and lots of it! Last night. I love doing anything with this incredible guy. Then we marched through weeds over our head to fill two bags with elder berries, for our sweet mom. Should have seen her face when she looked in the bags=) Made walking through all those tall weeds worth it.

So here’s this weeks photos are a day late…but there ARE here none the less=)

Enjoy!

Summer improvements around the house….=)

My dad and Isaac have been very busy this spring/summer, with not only the increase of work at my dad’s pallet business, but with the weekly summer chores around the house. (Mowing and weed-whacking to mention a few)  And on top of all this they’ve found time to do a few extra improvements to the house and yard this spring. These two guys are two of the hardest working men I know…and they never quit till the job, they’ve started, is finished.

So here’s a few photos of the things they’ve been up too this done this summer.

First they mulched the flower beds…Isaac showed me the blisters on his hand from unloading it, why he doesn’t wear gloves is a mystery. IMG_2097Doesn’t it look beautiful?!?!?IMG_2100And the hummingbirds=)  they had this feeder drained in a weeks time…IMG_2102Discussing a minor problem with the construction of a new set of stair on the other side of our front porch.IMG_2226IMG_2227IMG_2228IMG_2231IMG_2234IMG_2236IMG_2239IMG_2244IMG_2245

What home improvements have you done on your house/yard this year?

Happy Friday!!!!

~Photo-a-day~ June 4-June 10

Last Friday night I went to a rodeo to watch a friend bull ride…yeah you read that right=) It was two hours away somewhere in Ohio (after we passed Cincinnati I was lost). It was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. Now I get scared for the riders even when I don’t know them…but when I do it’s even worse, I almost made myself sick. It was so fun though…I was out pretty late that night and I had a test in Indy the next morning but oh well=)

Sunday Christina and I went on a little over three hour ride together…just the two of us and our horses=) It was cool out with a light breeze and a clear sky over head…couldn’t have picked a better day.  We stopped on our way back to visit with an Amish family…and they convinced us to have dinner with them. I never like to leave Sam tied, but he did very well – even though there were some teenage female horses on the other side of the fence and you know how things goes – those girls were beside themselves, to say the least=)

My boss’s mare had a filly on Thursday – I can’t wait till they bring her back home…I want to see her so bad!

Okay so here are the seven new photo’s, this week it was hard to get in the mood to take them. But despite the odd against me I managed to get all seven=) I even remembered I hadn’t taken one at 11:45 pm one day – whoa that was close!

Day 155

~play~

I bought the latest Rascal Flatts CD even though I practically had to run out of the store, thanks to Isaac for MAKING me get it…it’s so hard for me to spend money on things like this anymore.  But it was so worth the money spent=) IMG_2149-001

Photography+me what you didn’t know.

Hey there…I’m sure the title of this post really caught your attention. We are all curious creatures by nature, we can’t help it=)

Okay here goes nothing….

  • I hate to have my picture taken…that’s probably why I like to TAKE pictures, because then I don’t have to be in front of the camera. I have declined taking pictures for people’s functions (like weddings) because I hate being in front of people. I didn’t even walk up closer to the altar when my sister was baptized-to get the perfect picture. something I will always regret. I don’t know why I feel this way…partially because I don’t like having my back to anyone, also because I feel that my camera is inferior.
  • Photography is only a hobby. period.
  • I like constructive criticism…but once after I had posted some pictures on Facebook a random lady messaged me. After politely insulting me and my pictures she asked me to just friend her so we could chat more. um I don’t think so. So maybe I’m a big baby or take rude people way to seriously. haha! But hey criticize my pictures all you want, just leave me out of it=)
  • My favorite place to take pictures is at a restaurant, but I’m normally too embarrassed to pull my camera out.
  • When my siblings ask me to take pictures for them I normally say no first…why? I don’t know, I’m working on that….still

Have a wonderful Monday!

~Photo-a-day~ May 7–May 13

One word to describe this week

RAINY!!!!

I love spring rains! Don’t you???

I’m listening to it drumming on my roof as I write this.

We had a windy storm hit last night while we were celebrating Grace’s birthday and it completely paused the gift opening. Which continued as soon as we could see our neighbors house again=) our garden really needs this rain, so it’s a good thing.
